SANTA CLARA, Calif. – July 25, 2005 – Xceive Corporation, developer of the world's first fully integrated multi-standard RF-to-baseband transceiver ICs for TVs, PC TVs, set top boxes, mobile phones, announced today that its XC2028 silicon tuner is a key part of Compro's new VideoMate U880, bringing TV to the PC.
Compro Technology, a leading manufacturer of PC multimedia products, released the world's smallest USB 2.0 analog TV tuner that allows worldwide TV reception. The VideoMate U880 provides the capability for TV watching, MPEG - 1/2/4 formats and DVD/VCD recording, time shifting, channel surfing, still frames capturing and universal broadcasting reception without any external power adapter required.
“The VideoMate U880 is another example of Compro's focus on innovation,” said Alvin Wong, vice president of marketing of Xceive Corporation. “Compro has won numerous industry awards and we are pleased to be their partner.”
Xceive's silicon tuner supports global digital and analog TV standards, enabling users to watch TV programs anytime and anywhere. Compro's USB 2.0 analog TV tuner is only 9.0 x 2.6 x 1.1 cm (L x W x H), a size similar to a USB Flash Drive, allowing the simplicity of plug and play.
“The high quality of Xceive's silicon tuner and its global tuning capabilities allow us to bring to the market a unique form factor for watching TV from the USB port,” said Mike Lo, general manager of Compro Technology. “This smaller than a dime tuner IC makes the innovations of products like the VideoMate U880 possible.”
