Xceive to Show Conexant-Based PCIe Reference Design For The Mass Market At COMPUTEX
SANTA CLARA, CA and Computex, TAIWAN – June 6, 2006 – Xceive® Corporation, developer of the world’s first fully integrated multi-standard RF-to-baseband transceiver ICs for TVs, PC TVs and set-top boxes today announced, that it will be presenting a PC-TV PCI Express (PCIe) reference design based on Conexant’s PCIe A/V decoder at an invitation-only suite at the Grand Hyatt Hotel during the Computex show in Taiwan. Conexant, a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications and the digital home, is a key supplier of A/V decoders, MPEG encoders, DVB-T/DVB-S/DVB-S2 demodulators, and other chip sets products used in the PC-TV market.
The PC-TV PCIe reference board features Xceive’s XC3028 silicon tuner and is designed for mass-market consumption. With global capabilities, XC3028 provides the flexibility and quality necessary for designing a PCIe reference board that meets worldwide standards.
“New PCIe reference designs are fueling the growing movement from PCI to PCIe,” said Alvin Wong, vice president of marketing at Xceive. “Key in supporting this trend is Conexant’s CX23885 PCIe A/V decoder with Xceive’s XC3028 silicon tuner, a solution that allows high performance at a great value.”
Conexant’s CX23885 single chip IC integrates all of the functions required to perform television and external A/V capture on personal computers or consumer electronic products. The devices can be used to create cost-effective basic analog PCIe PC-TV tuner solutions or complex multiple tuner PC-TV configurations.
“The CX23885 provides manufacturers with a single-chip solution that simplifies the transition to PCI Express, and allows them to bring products to market more quickly and economically,” said Al Servati, division director of marketing for convergence video products at Conexant.
