Skyworth Selects Xceive Silicon Tuner for Its New TV Models

One of China’s largest TV makers chooses Silicon Tuner over Can Tuner.

SANTA CLARA, CA & CES, LAS VEGAS, NV – Jan. 5, 2006 – Xceive Corporation, developer of the world’s first fully integrated multi-standard RF-to-baseband transceiver ICs for TVs, PC TVs, set-top boxes and mobile phones, announced today that its XC2028 silicon tuner has been selected by Skyworth, one of China’s largest TV manufacturers, ensuring high-quality picture and TV reception and quick-tuning for its newest models, 21” and 25” TVs.

XC2028 is a RF-to-Baseband TV tuner that replaces multi-standards 2-in-1 CAN tuners with higher reliability. Eliminating the need for CAN tuners, XC2028 is the highest integrated silicon tuner used by TV manufacturers. In addition to the RF tuner portion, the chip has an embedded DSP that enables the tuner to improve weak signals and process worldwide TV standards.

With Xceive’s ClearView and QuickTune technology, XC2028 silicon tuner delivers a sharp, clean image and quick tuning for channel scanning and changing, which provides viewers with a better experience than previously available. Today, XC2028 is the only single silicon tuner used in TV sets worldwide.

“XC2028 is the best performing silicon tuner on the market today meeting our strict TV requirements,” said Mr. Dai, Deputy GM of Skyworth RGB. “We demand the best products and chose Xceive’s tuner innovation for our TVs.”

“This partnership highlights the trend of TV sets moving away from the traditional CAN tuners to silicon tuners,” said Alvin Wong, vice president of marketing for Xceive. “High performance silicon tuners are gaining more traction in TVs because the flat frequency response and small group delay makes the picture sharper and clearer, while fast tuning brings more differentiators in the market.”
