Field Applications Engineer

This position is in our Santa Clara, CA office

Responsibilities:

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) provides the primary technical resource for pre and post sales support of key Xceive customers. This requires customer support during the initial hardware design phase through integration and testing of final products (typically digital TV sets). The FAE interfaces with the customer, facilitating direct technical communication between key customers and Xceive internal groups. The FAE helps in identifying new applications and markets for existing products, competitive market/technical trends, and feedback on future new products or technical adjustments to current products where needed.

Requirements:

• BSEE, MSEE preferred
• 5+ years relevant experience in applications, test, product or design engineering
• Experience with RF design, measurements, mixed-signal designs and/or
system-level design and debugging, using lab equipment including spectrum
analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Experience in analog and digital video signal quality assessment is a plus
• Schematic generation, guidance of PCB projects through layout and fabrication
• Component selection and Bill of Material generation targeted for
manufacturing environment
• Experience in authoring technical documents such as application and technical notes
• Experience in overseas customer support
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English (also proficiency in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, or Spanish would be a plus)

RF, Video, and audio measurement skills are necessary to support customer designs during the prototype and debug stage of their products. Some international travel will be required (approximately 25%)
